Arte Natura – Works Inspired by The Natural World

Limner Gallery, Hudson, NY,  May 5 – 28, 2011

My painting is included in Limner Gallery’s exhibition Arte Natura during the month of May. The artwork included in the show covers a wide range of subject matter and approaches in consideration of the natural world.

Limner Gallery is located in Hudson, NY, a quaint town on the Hudson River whose most famous former resident is the great painter Frederick Church. With lots of scenic river views, Olana, Church’s marvelous home on the Hudson is a must-see. The town of Hudson boasts many galleries and interesting restaurants so the jaunt to Hudson will be worth the trip. See you there for the opening reception on Saturday? (We’re bringing the dogs, naturally!)

PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION – April 12, 2011

Yonkers Third Annual Artists Showcase  at Yonkers Riverfront Library

Forty artists, living or working in Yonkers, will show selections of their work in an exhibition at the Yonkers Riverfront Library, from Saturday April 23rd, through Mid-August, 2011. The exhibition has been organized and curated by two Yonkers artists Kathy Yacoe Skura and Luis Perelman, under the auspices of YonkersArts.

Through the last twenty years, various local arts organizations, including Art on Main Street/Yonkers, the Blue Boor Artist Association, the West Room Gallery (part of the Yonkers Board of Education Cultural Arts programs) and the Yonkers Public Libraries have made it possible for local artists to display their works, often for the first time.  At this time over two hundred visual artists live or work in Yonkers, with many of them working in YOHO, the former Alexander Carpet Mill in Nepperhan Valley.

The third Yonkers Artist showcase at the Riverfront Library marks the existence of a group of remarkable artists in Yonkers, showing a variety and creativity comparable to what is found in New York City.  The curators have selected not only contemporary painting and sculpture but also traditional photography and figurative works.  The Library patrons will see an extraordinary selection of artworks, and as well as quality and variety, in the beautiful 2,500 square feet of exhibition space at the fourth floor of the Library.  Artists included are: Vinnie Bagwell, Richard Benash, Kathleen Benton, Haifa Bint-Kadi, Jef Campion, Gino Civale, Elizabeth de Bethune, Arthur Dworin, David Fischweicher, Ralph Gabriner, Diane Mitchell/Marko Gosar, Paul Greco, George Gutierrez, Susan Hoeltzel, Joan Jennings, Satish Joshi, Barbara King, Jacqueline Lorieo, Leslie Miller, Johanny Monsanto, Carole Naggar, George Pali, Luis Perelman, Librado Romero, Dena Schutzer, Barbara Segal, Nat Mayer Shapiro, Maxine Short, Arline Simon, Arle Sklar-Weinstein, Kathleen Yacoe Skura, Cecily Spitzer, Paulo Suzuki, Turhan Von Brandon, Jonathan Wallen, and others

The exhibition is free to the public.  For further information, please call 914 337-1500 or 914 965-3397.
